T-800's Spring Film Calendar discussion pl0x (so we dont confuse ppl)

Post  Tiberius-800 on Tue Mar 30, 2010 4:01 pm

Listed below are more or less all of the movies I want to see this spring, and I believe 90% of these movies are movies that you guys could see as well.

Basically pick any of the movies you'd like to see as well and lemme know and we'll already be good to go for the rest of spring. First come first serve for space in my car, but since multiple people have cars now it shouldn't be an issue if a large group wants to go.

And really give each one a look-over and watch the preview, I'm sure some of these you haven't heard of. Enjoy!

How to Train Your Dragon – NOW PLAYING
Young Viking Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third is sent to the Isle of Berk in the North Sea, where he is to subdue a dragon as a rite of passage.

Clash of the Titans – April 2nd
In a loose adaptation from Greek mythology, Perseus who was born a god but raised as a man, sets off on an epic mission to combat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus and unleash hell on earth.

Kick-Ass – April 16th
Despite the fact that he has zero superpowers, teenage fanboy Dave Lizewski looks to reincarnate himself as a crime-fighting superhero named Kick-Ass, a decision that will inspire a subculture of copy cats, put his life in danger, and unite him with a similarly minded father-daughter duo.

The Losers – April 23rd
After being betrayed and left for dead, members of a CIA black ops team root out those who targeted them for assassination.

Iron Man 2 – May 2nd
With the world now aware of his dual life as the armored superhero Iron Man, billionaire inventor Tony Stark faces pressure from the government, the press, and the public to share his technology with the military. Unwilling to let go of his invention, Stark, along with Pepper Potts, and James "Rhodey" Rhodes at his side, must forge new alliances -- and confront powerful enemies.

Robin Hood – May 14th
The story of an expert archer who travels to the town of Nottingham toward the end of the 12th century, where the acts of a despotic sheriff and the presence of a beautiful widow inspire him to assembles a gang of mercenaries bent on raiding the upper class as a way to correct the sheriff's injustices.

MacGruber – May 21st
Ex-special operative MacGruber is called back into action to take down his archenemy, Dieter Von Cunth, who's in possession of a nuclear warhead and bent on destroying Washington, D.C.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time – May 28th
Set in medieval Persia, a rogue prince joins a mysterious princess in an effort to prevent a dark force from obtaining an ancient dagger that allows its handler to rule the world.

Survival of the Dead – May 28th
National Guardsmen, thinking they have found refuge from a zombie army on an island off the coast of Delaware, soon realize they've wedged themselves between two warring families who differ on what should become of the undead.

Marmaduke – June 4th
The Winslow family moves to a new neighborhood with their large yet lovable Great Dane, who has a tendency to wreak havoc in his own oblivious way.

The A-Team – June 11th
A group of Iraq War veterans looks to clear their name with the U.S. military, who suspect the four men of committing a crime for which they were framed.

Solomon Kane - TBA 2010
The first part in a trilogy series, "Solomon Kane" is an epic adventure adapted from the classic pulp stories by Robert E. Howard, creator of "Conan the Barbarian." Solomon Kane is a 16th Century soldier who learns that his brutal and cruel actions have damned him. Determined to redeem himself, Kane swears to live a life of peace and goodness but is forced to fight once more when a dark power threatens the land.

Nic Cage's mustache is the only part of your post that matters. Must see Kick-Ass.

I am possibly in for Clash of the Titans, but only if we go at 10pm. I'm trying this new thing called "going to class on Friday mornings."

ALSO: How to Train your Dragon NEEDS to happen. I like dragons.

So Kick-Ass. Would anyone be extremely opposed to seeing it Saturday during the day instead of Thursday night? My preliminary plans are to visit that weekend and would REALLY like to see it with you guys. Plus, I'll have my car in case there are a lot of people that want to go. If not, I understand. My plans aren't definite yet but I will keep you posted.

On that note, I think it would be appropriate if I brought a cake to said viewing.

If it were any other movie, save for Iron Man 2, I'd probably be able to hold off. But dude, it's Kick-Ass.

Although, since it IS Kick-Ass I'll possibly be up for a second viewing anyway.

Edit: Or this...

McFly: maybe we could midnight it and take Kreggins and anybody else to Movies Ten on saturday while we Fun Barn

Don't you ever, EVER compare Marmasuck with Tooth Fairy. I was weak, but how could I have known? You know better.

I'm entirely in for Clash of the Titans whenever it happens.

I'm also falling on the side against Marmaduke. I can't think a scenario where it would be anything more than an empty shell of the glories of the Tooth Fairy viewing. Lightning rarely strikes twice, particularly for OUGA (see: Ultimate Falcon Match II, Battle of the Bans 2).
